In a world that is revolving in constant movement and sudden changes, influenced by technology; the need to manage our thoughts and emotions effectively and in real-time is becoming vital. Mindful Exponential Leadership is the key to achieving this goal.

Not only should we manage to shift our focus inwardly and reach inside us for self-discovery and overcome our own limitations, but the ideal intention should be a two-way road, including our relation and awareness of the external environment too, knowing what might control and affect us from outside and be able to go with the flow.

After the fall of the Soviet Union, and the Socialist block, in the end of the nineties; the American Army provided a new global diagnose and designed an acronym named VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity). Our world grows faster, more unpredictable and complex each day, therefore harder to interpret. The arrival of the digital era and internet, places us in front of a new world, marked by the accelerated speed changes occur.

MINDFUL EXPONENTIAL LEADERSHIP

“We all have the power to change our minds.
Once we do, we can change out potential and the potential of those around us… exponentially”

Nowadays, in every daily task, for almost anyone, the things we should be paying attention to, change constantly with a faster pace and overwhelming frequency.

This leads us to experience unpleasant situations because of not being able to keep up with this speedy environment, such as broken commitments, rejections, unwanted responses, and awkward communication.

We are living in a society ruled by technology and social media; one click away from interacting with anyone, at anytime from anywhere. This leads us to a changing world, where instant response has risen as a key skill in any kind of job or when it comes to knowledge.

According to Harvard University:

79%

of the world’s employees are dissatisfied with their employment.

20%

of the collaborators experience the symptoms of work fatigue.

$500B

a year are lost due to lack of productivity.

Mindfulness to refocus

Our reality has showed us ways to affirm we are able to survive the VUCA world. These shall come from applying Mindful Exponential Leadership. Mindfulness comes from the English translation of the word “Sati” of Buddhist origin, and its meaning evokes a mixed concept of Awareness, presence and acceptance. It is also known as conscious awareness, or plenty of attention, and was developed in the Unites States at the end of the seventies by renowned psychologists and researchers such as Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ronald Siegel or Jack Kornfield.

Its objective is to reach a profound state of consciousness experimenting the Here and Now, by applying different meditation techniques. We strive to find our relaxation and go into a totally judgement free state of being, allowing our sensations, feelings or thoughts to flow and go freely.

We usually tend to pay very little attention to any daily activity, by investing a tiny part of our awareness while the mind and thoughts are in a totally different place. We function as automatic pilots, taking care of our businesses with very little consciousness of details and present experiences that go with the moment, even less of the motivations that inspire our actions.
